Day Dream..

Bein a lifeguard leaves me w. more than enough time to sit and think; eventually leading to day dreaming. When I first started working, as every employee does, I did everything I was supposed to do to attempt to impress the boss and impose a great first impression. As the months went by and the hours increased, I succumbed to the inevitable and every once in a while I tend to drift off in to whatever worl my mind brings me to. Today at work I started thinkin about where I would go if I had a time machine. At first I thought I would go back to the 70's or 80's as every one does, next I moved on to the times of Martin Luther King, and Malcom X. But as I really started thinkin about it I realized that no place is better than the first few years of your life.

When I think back to how many times a month I talk about how stupid the new cartoons are, or how bad I miss shows like Rocket Power, Ren and Stimpy, Doug and so many that aren't listed above, it has to be over 10 times. As a matter of fact I just mentioned to my good brother Chris that I could probably find some of the old dvd's on ebay.

But on another note, I remember runnin home to watch the newest episode of Pokemon, bein scared as shit of the last epidsode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? and wishin that I was on Guts cause I always thought I was better than anybody on the show. Lol. My favorite show was def. the show that you had run around the store w. a shoppin cart and whatever you put in the cart was yours. WWHHHHATTT!? I used to make lists of the shit I would get. Too bad I was never on the show though. But it def. doesn't stop at just the tv shows..

Classics. As you can see there are 3 Jim Carrey movies only because he is the funniest actor ever lol. If you don't agree I suggest you watch both Ace Venturas, Liar Liar, and The Mask and I'm certain that will change your mind. The ideas of the movies listed above came from a nice collection of vhs tapes I recently found in a cabinet in my house. (I'm still lookin for a vhs player by the way. J.Rogers didn't come through in the clutch like I thought he was and I hope you read this) This collection of 8 simple movies is no where near the entire collection of childhood memories that I have hidden deep in my memory. Lol. I'm sure those of you who visit will be able to think of plenty more in just a matter of seconds, but I must say this is not a bad list at all.

I could go on and on about the clothes, music, skateboarding and other activities I was involved in, trips to Disney World and where ever else, as well as my dreams of one day being a basketball player LOL, but the sun is starting to rise at 5:30 hits and I believe it's time for me to end this. Hopefully, if I regain the desire to reflect on how much I miss my my days as an adolencent, I'll continue this post, but until then I'll leave you w. this..

LOL.

AAAYYYY!! OKKKAAAYY!

So today went exactly as planned w. a little twist at the end. I finally got my hair done after walking around w. a mini fro for the past 3 months and I'm more than pleased w. the results. After I left the shop I headed over to chill w. my good brother C-Murder who was located conveniently around the corner. Following that we headed over to Brandon's crib to present to him the new doo and create the master plan for the evening.

The decision couldn't have been better. The family decided to assemble at the Franklin Mills mall at approximately 12 midnight to watch the much anticipated release of Transformers 2. The fact that it cut off half way through the movie. Definetly helped make the movie much better. Lol. But even though it fast forwaded to the end of the movie and started playing backwards in a language that sounded like Donnie from the Wild Thornberrys, we were not phased and quickly walked across the hall to the next theater to resume watching.

Transformers 2 pretty much speaks for itself and for those of you who had the chance to see it themselves, you know what I'm talking about. The best part of the night was probably not seeing the movie, but the fact that I got a free movie pass. Seems like my plans for next weekend are already made..

I Know A Thing Or Two About A Thing Or Two

Staying up until the wee hours of the night has left me to some serious movie searches on Comcast. I really don't know what I would do without it. Everytime I think I've watched every movie I find a new one, and I'm rarely disappointed. Tonight I decided to test the waters with an old DeNiro filmed called This Boy's Life. It's not often that a movie made in '93 would have a movie trailer but luckily for me I was offered a preview to a movie that has made a big impact on my life.

The story begins w. Leonardo Dicaprio, who plays as Toby, and his mom wandering the plains in a beat up car called the Nash, searching for fortune in which I guess was a big rave in the 50's: unranium. Traveling across the globe from Florida to Salt Lake City, Utah then to tryin to move away from hardships and bad times, but it trouble always seems to find Toby as he hangs out w. the wrong crowd and keeps to his old ways. Toby's mom meets up w. an old boyfriend who takes advantage of her which eventually leads to them moving again. Fate leads the two to Seattle where Toby's mom meets her new husband.

Things seem perfect in the begining but things quickly change as reality sets in and the good isn't good anymore. Toby keeps gettin in to trouble, stealin, smokin and has to move in w. moms boyfriend where things change for the worse. Fast forward to two years later and Jack starts to realize that he has to get away from the town he lives in called Concrete. Friend's don't look like friends anymore and Jack strives for college but his new dad won't let him hold on to his dreams for too long.

Toby gets help from a friend of his and eventually gets into college and moves away from the problems he once faced. Real good movie and I definetely suggest you watch it, lol it's a lot more interestin than what I wrote above but I tried. Check out the clip below..

At The End Of The Day All I Need Is My Niggas..

It's 3 in the mornin and all I can think about is why couldn't I think of that? Shit definetly fucks w. me when I'm not on top like at the best of my game. I just be wantin to hear like yo thats dope man or good shit but when I don't.... i don't know. I feel like I've been puttin on a front for some people, like when I'm around certain people I act different like I have to act some type of way for them to like me instead of being myself and I think I've always been like that. I guess the only people who really know me are the people I fuck w. the most. Sometimes I think like people would really fuck w. me if they knew who I really was.. and then I think like I can't be myself around everybody cause I don't trust nobody. and i mean NOBODY. But now I'm really startin to feel like I have to stop thinkin like that it's not really about who or what people think you are because at the end of the day you're only left w. you and your family and for some their closest friends. Having the friends that I have has definetly helped me become a better person and set myself up to be in a better place but I'm still not exactly where I want to be. Still tryin to fit in and mimick what other people do instead of doin me.

I feel like I need to start havin the fuck whatchu think mentality but at the same time I don't want to change who I am. I respect the fact that I'm humble and won't only talk to someone because of their status or what they can offer me. I fuck w. people cause they're cool and down to earth. I look down on people who can't fuck w. somebody if they can't make them money or put them in the spotlight.

In a sense I feel like I made this blog not only to show people what I was thinkin but more so to get people to see that i was "cool". Watchin the views to see how many people came and postin things that other people might like instead of what I really think. This blog is supposed to be about me and for a while now it hasn't been. I need to make a change....... damn

Let's Boogie.. Part 2

So I wanted to continue this post to hopefully give you an understanding of my past two summers as you entered my page. This will express the importance of the following summer to all who read. School is out, the summer is here, and it's time to boogie. For the past two summers I have been booked, by choice as well as against my will, to participate in activities that seemed to unfortunately consume my entire vacation from education. It sucked. Last summer I started college summer courses before I graduated. What was supposed to be an unforgetable 2 1/2 month break was unfortunately reduced to a mere 3 days. Could you imagine? The summer before was not a waste, track consumed my life. My days consisted of 3 hours of fresh air while the rest of the 21 hours were spent in the house doing push ups or some kind of physical activity of the sort.

Although I was unable to experience the life of a pre-freshman, this summer will not be wasted.. I promise you that. My hair is growing, Around3 is in the making, me along with all my niggas will be home and madness is sure to follow wherever our footsteps lead us. Also, I'll have the time to search for more websites to blog from. I'm getting tired of using the same disappointing sites. Hopefully you're not. A camera would definetly make the experience of visiting my blog much better so I'll try to work on that as well.

Lastly, I'd like to acknowledge the people that visit my page each day. It's not overlooked. With what started out as probably only J.Rogers, Bink, and a few others I ASKED to check it out, there weren't very many who visited. Not sure if it was the long anticipated wait after the break I took, LOL, but thanks for visiting. I keep track of the views I get and am very pleased with the outcome so far. Special thanks to MY. She's been showin love lately. It's never overlooked.

I Just Hope It's Worth It..

So I just got off the phone with my mom, and I'm still surfin Kid Cudi's website (this dude definetly is talking about everything I stand for) and I'm thinking about the future. I know that I want to do something big with my life and wish I can walk in a stars shoes for one day, but who doesn't? After reading into people like Kanye and Kid Cudi's stories like, its crazy. Most of the people that we see on t.v. have everything they wished for, and everything we wish for now, basically but somethings still missing.

I know that some day I'm gonna do something big with my life, I just don't know what it's gonna be or what's gonna happen to me when I do. Now I'm starting to notice that with every blessing we receive, another obstacle stands in our way of further success. Reading about what happened to the people I look up to just makes me realize that the limelight and stardom I want so bad is not what I think it is. It's not all fun and games like we see on t.v. Basically these people are just like us, regular people with a great talent or gift. They live their lives and have friends and family and everything, they just lose their privacy. lol.

I don't know what I'm gonna have to overcome or what the price is that I'll have to pay, but I hope it's worth it. I hope it's worth giving my mom everything she wants cause that's what she did for me. I don't know man, I just hope it's all worth it..

Kid Cudi..

So I was surfin through Kid Cudi's old blog posts to see what he used to write about when he first started bloggin. I peeped Kanye's not too long ago and he's changed so much. I was surprised to see that Cudi hasn't changed one bit. Out of all the people in music right now I would have to say that Kid Cudi definetly gets my respect more than anybody. Simply because he's remained humble since becoming a star. One of the few rappers I can honestly say that about. Cudi's been through some shit in his life and doesn't let that show or complain about it in his raps or in interviews or nothing, he just puts out music for the people that can relate to the situation he was in. He doesn't rap about guns, drugs, or any of the typical "rapper shit". Big ups to Kid Cudi.

Make sure you check out his blog listed in my favorites section.

Weekend Recap

So this four-day weekend was not what I would have expected it to be. The most exciting thing I engaged in during these past couple days was start my first day of work. Other than that I slept on the deathly uncomfortable L couch in my living room as I do every time I return home. But the break is over and I'm back to posting. Hope you enjoy..

Today Was A Good Day

Usually I'm hesitant to write posts such who as this one, but today has just been too good not to. In the classes I was dreaded the most, actually were pretty cool. Now I only have one class left and a four day weekend to look forward to. For those of you who tune in regularly and for those of you who are just now catching wind of Futur3 Shock.. You can definetly expect some pictures from the 4-day weekend that lay ahead of me. Stay Tuned. I also found A LOT of things to post. So it looks like I'm gonna have to post them over the next couple days.. In the meantime check out this video from Fubiz..

It's All You Need..

For a while now, I wanted to put up a picture of a fortune cookie I recently came across but the camera I previously mentioned about runs on batteries and being the college student I am, I'm low on funds. So instead I just decided to tell you about it. LOL. Recently the fortune cookies I have been getting are considerably true. Either these guys are really good at this or it's really just meant to be. It said..

"Look around and you will find the greatest treasure of all, friendship."

I guess you could say that.. HAAA!!!!

The Calm

I'm sitting here listening to Drake's Mixtape- So Far So Gone and I've never been so influenced by a mixtape. Drake has ceased the Weezy phenomenon and has started his own. The name he has made for himself in only the past month or so is amazing. Although I do not remember watching him but on one episode of Degrassi, I do remember vividly listening to him on Trey Song's Replacement Girl. A song in which I heard years ago and even then I was impressed. Since then Drake has improved to another ;evel as I'm sure many of you know.

Two songs that I just can't seem to stop listening to are The Calm.. and A Little Bit. Two very influential songs that I feel I can relate to. A Little Bit tells the tale that every one of my age feels they understand: love. Some are scared and because of it they choose to hide how they truely feel in order to keep from getting hurt; expressed 1,000 times better in the song. Lol. The second song is The Calm. A track in which I feel the emotion of his "pain". Definetly a song to listen to while driving on a rainy night or day with something on the mind, or if subject to a mental writer's block as I am and in need of a stress relief. Hopefully I'll get done this homework soon enough.

Unfortunately I am kind of unexperienced when it comes to blogging and I am only able to post the YouTube version of each song. Hopefully in the months to come I'll learn the ins and outs of this oh so complicated technlogy. Enjoy..

Now What I Look Like?

So unfortunately, I have come to the conclusion that I look like Nick Cannon based on the picture shown below. I think I look like myself personally but many have given me different opinions on who I look like. There's too many to name. For those of you who don't know me, the picture would show a close resemblence (although exact in my own opnion). For those of you who do, I'm 100% positive that you see the resemblence.

The reason I decided to post this is because I have decided to get braids. In recent movies, music videos, etc., Mr. Cannon himself has had braids and I wanted to see what I would looke like based on his images; weird I know. After searching for some images I came up with this, and realized that I can not base my opinion on this alone. Mainly because the pictures I came across were horrible, but I just think it's a bad idea overall. Take a look..

Couldn't picture it..

Although at the most unique time, the one time that basically all of my friends have cut their hair and when braids have gon almost completly out of style, I thought it was time for a change. Living with a ceaser a.k.a. short cut my entire life, I want to experience something new. It just seems only right that I get braids considering that all of my brothers, the Stay Cool Boys (not an actual nickname just something I think sounds cool) had them at one point also. So what do you think? LOL.
p.s. this is not an april fool's joke!

Weekend Recap

So this weekend went by extremly fast and wasn't filled with as much excitement as past college crash weekends have been. Saturday's adventure led us to Kutztown; my most anticiapted college crash to date. Kutztown definitely had me hype because of the past pictures I saw that a couple of my good brothers Chris and BZJ posted while I was in the Matrix a.k.a Wilberforce University, but I also didn't expect the campus to be so nice. Shout out to the girls' room we stayed in with the bangin ass wall. I still don't think that there were 7 Gucci pics but its cool.
As far as the activities go, the party was wack, including the after party, but I won a camera so I guess its even. I think my luck is finally starting to turn around. LOL.

Today, I enjoyed the foreshadowing of what's to come in the summer: beautiful weather, watched Marley and Me which was good as shit, and chilled for most of the day. A while back my mom went to go see it and left the movie crying uncontrollably. I won't spoil the ending for you but its definetly worth seeing. All in all the weekend was pretty cool, besides the fact that I have to start the school week all over again and pray that the next weekend comes just as fast as this one ended.

Oh yeah, congrats to my man BZ for makin the Abakus Blog. My man stays with the cool shit!!!!
Peep his room in the background.....

Stay Cool..

At first, I wanted this post to be something that everybody would like, something that would appeal to whoever read it. But after some much needed insight from my good friend Bianca, I realized that this blog and the posts that follow this, are not supposed to be what others like but are instead a tool to let others who read it get an understanding of who I really am. This blog is not something that makes me “cool” but an instrument in portraying my thoughts.

The media and America itself has instituted a need to be “cool” from a young age when brand name clothes and sneakers, flashy music videos, and million dollar mansions begin to be instilled in our minds. And for that reason our future is essentially built around the success of famous people we see on t.v., which causes innovation to cease as others become content on imitating ideas that previously existed. It would be ridiculous to say that I wasn’t one of those brainwashed kids checking the on demand channel guide for the next episode of cribs, or the newest music video to see the newest car that Lil Wayne had on the Cash Money Millionaire Video. I also was at fault of wanting to be a part of the “in” crowd. But as I look back on the past I see what the “cool” has influenced me and so many others. Now instead of first observing a new concept, people tend to bash it and criticize it before they actually understand it.

So when new ideas are introduced people feel the need to criticize it because it’s not the “cool” they’re familiar with. I say FUCK THAT! I believe that the the "cool" should be defined as an innovator or an individual that has a tendency to stay one step ahead of the current trend. In a sense this would make Pharrell, Kanye West, Kid Cudi and the Clipse among the coolest in today’s society. All of those mentioned do things based on what they feel is cool and are not afraid of the criticism they know will inevitably follow. Kanye West for example released 808’s and Heartbreak, complete with auto-tune on almost every song, not in an effort to gain fans but to express how he felt at the time. Freely influencing others through your own perception of cool is what truly is cool. Most people are afraid to step outside of the box and become different because it isn’t normal or what they’re used to.

So thanks bink for the insight, and helping me on my way. From this point on I will no longer let others influence what I think is cool. As for the readers, stay cool. Stay cool by being you, by expressing your uniqueness and desire to stand out in a crowd at all times, and at everything you do. Not through the perceptions of others but in the unique way that you think is “cool”.
